UBC ranks 34th among world’s top 100 universities
I’m so glad that the federal election is finally… gone. Now I can chat about other stuff that are lighter and funnier.
The annual QS Top Universities ranking was out just days before the fed election. UBC ranks 34, dropping 1 place from the year before. UBC still ranks higher than University of Toronto (yeah!) which is standing at the 41st. University of Hong Kong, which was No. 18 last year, fell to No. 29 this year. Here are the results:
education, UBC, universitiesThe Times Higher Education – QS World University Rankings identified these to be the world’s top 100 universities in 2008. These institutions represent 20 countries with Israel represented for the first time. Whilst North America dominates with 42 universities, Europe and Asia Pacific are well represented with 36 and 22 respectively.

Yay, Montreal’s McGill is still the best in Canada :) !!
…..though slipping by 8 places :( which is worrisome. I’d like all our universities to be excellent.
