CIC publishes detailed stats once again

I’m glad to see that Citizenship and Immigration Canada is once again publishing complete immigration statistics as it has for the last 20 years.

CIC under Diane Finley has stopped publishing detailed immigration numbers, especially missing were those of source countries. (see previous post)

Jason Kenney replaced Finley as the CIC minister after the election. One of the first questions he was asked was whether he would reinstall transparency, at least in the publication of stats. He said in an interview that he would like to review the publication process and see if there’s any good to publish detailed numbers.

Well, it’s obvious that he’s chosen to go (back to being) transparent.
