80% residents in Richmond centre are Chinese



According to a report using Census 2006 data on Chinese Canadian population, the number of CC in BC has surpassed 400,000.

Most CC live in Vancouver, Richmond and Burnaby. The CC proportion in Richmond accounts for 43.6% of total population. CC population is especially dense in Richmond central area — northern part of the city between No. 3 and No.4, in which 80.2% are Chinese. (That 80.2% CC is in the Census Tracts (CTs) between Lansdowne Road, Cooney Road, No. 3 Road and Granville Ave.)

    Chinese immigrants should come to Canada to integrate into a Canadian culture rather than cloister in Richmond. Two malls in RIchmond have only Mandarin signs. I thought we had two official langages and Mandarin is not one of them. Be part of this community or don’t bother to come Canada.

    btw, this IS canadian culture…. in which everyone live together, pay taxes and have fun! you, me and all ppl out there ARE part of the community, unless your definition of “community” is that ONLY of the white european
