This post is exactly 1 year old and this year’s neo-Zazis demo at New Westminster was without any incidence. Any similar demo in Calgary this year and how did it turn out?

Ignatieff was at Dosanj’s open house last week. Election soon may be and I sense change in the air. Dosanj lost by a narrow margin the last time. Voters are getting more savvy and dirty talks to shut up those in reasonable discourse won’t bring them to the same level. Hopefully they do it right this time. I’m ready for change but not blindly.

Our children never fought with one another. The only family to become racist was the Egyptian in-laws. They didn’t approve of their son’s marriage and eventually took my sister’s child away from her and raised her themselves in Cairo. This devastated my sister, She became a drug addict to deal with the pain the Arab family caused. The Egyptian in-laws never joined the rest of our family, but always kept themselves separate. The Arab in-laws were the only racists in our family.”

Admin, this has nothing to do with Chinese in Vancouver.

How many white Canadians do you accept as friends? I understand it is hard to immigrate to another country. In China there are no racist groups who will rally against you. The Chinese cops will just take you out, dead. So enjoy the lack of Chinese cops here in this country and stop complaining about your new neighbours. Perhaps some of your new neighbours know the heroin on their streets didn’t grow in this country.

Don’t get me wrong here. Let’s put aside the political aspect of it. So basically this is a humanitarian issue, i.e.
- birth control for the people (wow are they producing like rabbits)
- prevention of HIV/aids

Africa is a very big continents of 53 countries with different levels of development and sophistication and wealth. Undeniably, some of them can benefit from this proposed generosity. But look at Haiti, donations of kinds and cash are going in to the wrong pockets; foodstuff and daily essentials meant for free distribution are being sold by thugs to the people for hard cash. Some UN employees in Africa were accused of sex for foods in the 90s. I’ve an idea, if this program materializes the “Chinooks” be deployed to drop the condoms at strategic locations.

I think the availability of condoms are important. I myself have experienced situations where I had to use SaranWrap just to be on the safe side.

Many people will not use condoms or use it after the first pull out, but just the fact that condoms are available readily will make some difference.

Greed is everywhere Canadian forums delete posts if you criticize or say true but negative things about Canada. The moderators are biased and turn a blind eye to all ESL racist remarks, yet they allow blatantly false statements to lure prospective foreigners with cash and good career in their home countries. Cheating and lies are not an issue, but honesty is.

Gene F, why are you citing NYC and California to back up your arguments. If you didn’t buy your dream house in Vancouver in 2004, you must be kicking yourself now. We welcome all US citizens esp those in California desperate to get out before their $$$ become worthless. But blaming the Chinese immigrants is stupid, you’re in the same boat.

I’m not familiar with this topic, but from your post I fail to see anything wrong with letting Africa decide how many condoms they want. China had a one child policy for a long time. Can someone advise if Africa’s population growth is getting out of hand? OTH if Conservatives or Liberals go ahead with the condoms-for-Africa followed with a drop in childbirths, the world will scream ‘genocide’.

And how are condoms saving maternal lives, they need obstetricians, midwives and medicines.
